Burg Nanstein Castle w/Parents  June 5, 2009

A day without the kids! My parents and I went to eat at the New York Donor Kebap Diner in Landstuhl and then visited European Country Living. The best home store here in Germany. We then took a short drive up to Burg Nanstein Castle Ruins and sat out at a little cafe drinking cappucino and wiesen beer. We were wondering why the place was surrounded by Polizei when we arrived and soon realized that everyone was waiting on Obama to arrive on the flight line at Ramstein. As you can see from the pictures, you can see the flight line from the castle. As always, Steve stopped and talked to the police and ended up swapping police badges with them. They even invited Steve in the Polizei van to view their equipment. We told Steve if Obama's plane went down then we were going to blame him for distracting the cops. lol We waited for a little while just so we could see Air Force One. We gave up and moved on.

Afterward, we left and headed over to Saturn (a store like Best Buy) to get Jami a camera for her birthday and then over to the Vogelweh BX. On our drive down the autobahn, the sides of the road were swarming with Polizei waiting on the arrival of  Obama. While at the BX, we saw Air Force One coming in for a landing. Great plane...bad president! All in all this was an excellent day!
